A Designer with a Difference
Deborah Lewis Design opened its doors in 1991, specializing in interior design for both residential and commercial projects. The firm has completed projects in Hawaii, New Jersey, Connecticut, Kansas, and across California, including the Bay Area, Calistoga and Lake Tahoe.
A kitchen designed by Deborah Lewis was featured in the 2011 annual tour for the Children’s Support League of the East Bay. The firm also donates staging services for homes on the tour, a fund-raising event that helps disadvantaged children.
Principal Deborah Lewis, Allied Member ASID, has an undergraduate degree in fine art from Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in architecture from UC Berkeley, giving her a unique combination of artistic sensibility and technical know-how. Prior to founding her own firm, she was an associate at the Pfister Partnership in San Francisco, an internationally renowned interior design firm.
Deborah Lewis approaches every project with the soul of an artist — and the mind of an architect. Her specialized background allows her to offer a full range of interior design services including space planning and expert kitchen and bath design — all backed by nuts-and-bolts knowledge and a sensitivity to architectural integrity.
With her eclectic approach to interior design she helps clients navigate through a wide variety of sources and options — from “to the trade” showrooms, on-line shopping, retail catalogs, even flea market finds.
In 2017, as one of seven finalists nominated by clients and colleagues for Oakland Magazine's annual "Best Of" issue, Deborah's small business was honored to win the "Best Interior Design Firm" award for Oakland and the East Bay. A validation of her firm's dedication to customer service and attention to the details necessary to create personally meaningful living spaces, this local award was particularly meaningful.
